Erm...as a kayaker myself, i would strongly recommend you to buy a "sit on top " Kayak.
This is more suitable for begginer, and it is more stable.For purpose of fishing recreations,.I would recommend you to have Pro-2 Tandem or X-factor. This is because with Pro-2, you can have a fishing buddy along your fishing trip, you also can deviding the fatigue during paddling long range on 2 man powers.
Besides, it is wise to have some 1 look after each other.
X-factor would be mine favorite due to its design..suitable to cut through strong water current and stability, and the length is suitable for every enviroment and water current. Both of this type also have rudder or saddle systems. This is my opinions, actually Mini X is quite promising ...shorter, easy to carry, just that its too weak on strong water current at the the beach shores.
All of this need more skills than fancy equipment, like the paddling technique and balancing technique. Have such kayak is a great pleasure and fun to casting along the mangrove or lakes searching for barramundi or tomans.
p:s Always wear a PFD( personal floating device ) a.k.a life jacket no mather what kind of situations.
